Meet Sweet Potato
Sweet Potato is my best bucking bull. He's a 4 year old (+/-) Corriente, from the Sheppard's up in Screven, GA. He performed in SPBR and Georgia High School Rodeo shows before coming to Florida. Corriente cattle were brought to North America by Spaniards over 500 years ago. They're a favorite for rodeo steer ropers because of their big horns and fast movement. You don't see a whole lot of Corriente bucking bulls - guess they don't naturally buck - but this one does. 'Tater's real well mannered (hence his name) and completely chute and arena broke. He'll go out of his way not to step on a fallen cowboy, and after his performance, he goes strait to the out gate. I've never had to rope him in. Don't let his docile demeanor fool ya - when flanked just right, 'Tater's a powerhouse bucker. In my opinion, 'Tater's the best looking and mannered Corriente bull on the planet. Judge for yourself. I wish the North American Corriente Association had a class for bucking bulls - currently they only have roping and bulldogging classifications for performance cattle. Here's more photo's of 'Tater.
